We are thrilled to announce that VOA Chesapeake has started fully using AWARDS as of December 1st, 2011 in their Mental Health Services and Intellectual Disability Services.
VOA Chesapeake, whose mission is to inspire self-reliance, dignity and hope through health and human services, went live in 15 programs all across Virginia, Washington D.C. and Maryland. Because they serve a wide range of populations all across the Chesapeake their programs needed to be configured to meet many different State and County requirements. Their Intellectual Disabilities programs span across 4 Counties alone! Each program has very different requirements and were using different versions of assessments and forms making it impossible to collect data across different programs.
By switching to AWARDS they consolidated many forms they were using prior to switching to an electronic record system. Together with their Foothold Implementation Consultant, they analyzed and broke down their forms to convert them into efficient data collection assessments.
Before using AWARDS, it could take staff at VOA Chesapeake hours to create the reports they needed for regulatory and billing purposes Now, with reports like Services Contacts ReportBuilder, they can create those reports in minutes! After only a few days of using AWARDS they could already count the hours they were saving.
VOA Chesapeake’s implementation team is looking forward to the next couple of months as the staff get even more proficient at using AWARDS and the agency transitions all of their programs to a paperless EHR system.
