Foothold Hosts Successful NJ DDD Users Group Meeting

Foothold Technology continues to work with our ever-growing group of agencies that provide Developmental Disabilities services under the auspices of the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities (NJ DDD), as they move forward with preparing for the transition to a Medicaid Fee-for-Service model. Several months ago we instituted monthly Users Group calls for these providers to allow for interactive conversations around AWARDS implementation, as well as plan for the upcoming billing changes. We were very pleased to hold our first in-person session this month, with 14 agencies sending representatives to the meeting!

For many of us, it was the first time we were able to meet in-person, and certainly the first time so many AWARDS-using NJ DDD providers were all in a room together. The meeting not only provided the larger user group an opportunity to discuss development needs and plans for prioritizing joint efforts to move AWARDS even further along in its ability to meet the needs of this provider group, but it also offered participating agencies a forum to discuss implementation challenges and hear ideas and successes from others going through the same process. “It was great to be able to hear from agencies like SCARC who are three years into their implementation and agencies like Arc of Bergen and Passaic, who are just a couple of weeks behind us,” said a member of CHCNJ.

Foothold staff will continue to work closely with our NJ DDD customer agencies to define and prioritize the enhancements needed for their particular tracking needs, and many members of the group will continue working as a subcommittee to push forward efforts with NJ DDD to accept Electronic Health Records. We are looking forward to ongoing monthly calls to continue our work together, and will supplement these calls with in-person meetings as often as possible.
