From time to time Foothold Technology has the opportunity to connect AWARDS users to vendors of other products that may benefit their agencies or clients. One such vendor is Instructional Systems Inc. (ISI), which provides adult educational courseware pre-installed on laptops. The courseware includes programs covering a range of topics including adult academics, which can be utilized as GED prep courses, and workplace and life skills training. The benefit of the laptops is that it gives agencies great flexibility in where and when they offer the courses to their clients.
On 10/5, we facilitated a webinar in which Claudia Angelopoulos, a representative from Instructional Systems Inc. presented her company’s educational courseware to several Foothold Technology clients. There was a lot of interest in the programs that can be used for GED preparation. During the presentation, Ms. Angelopoulos demonstrated a few modules of ISI’s courseware including the life skills course called “You Can Make it Happen” and an academic course in basic Math. She also demonstrated how agencies can run reports to gauge their clients’ progress, and informed attendees about SUNY sites all around NY State where the courseware is available to anyone interested free of charge. ISI is offering a special promotion for AWARDS clients in which agencies that purchase four bundles, will get a fifth one free. This promotion expires on December 16, 2011.
